GSl SE Exhaust Value

Hello, I recently put on a racing beat exhaust for my GSL SE. Now I have a perfectly healthy complete and low mileage original exhaust just sitting around. I was wondering how much it would be worth if it's worth anything at all

This guy Matt Brown pays good bucks for stock catalytic converters, which I believe he recycles. He even pays shipping.

I sent him the main cat and two precats from an 84 GSL, prepaid shipping and he deposited $150 in my paypal, enough to pay for the new bonez racing pipe that replaced the cats.

So is nobody looking for the OEM exhuast?

Heavy to ship, and not many SE's still out there. I still use my stock exhaust to pass emissions testing every other year, so it has value to me, but unfortunately - you're too far away to make the drive to hand you cash and pick it up!

I think it would have value to someone trying to keep an SE up and running in a state that requires emissions testing. I think the only reason mine has lasted this long is because A) no humidity in AZ, and 2) it's only on the car for one weekend every other year, and then gets swapped for my Racing Beat presilencer and header.

In any case, good luck,

here is my suggestion:
sell the 3 cats if they still have comb in them. Not sure if the Mike brown fella is still buying though as I had sent him multiple emails and PM's for the same topic and no reply. You should have a local recycler there who will pay for them. Typically the large main cat will bring about $50 or so, the small precats $35-$40

Keep the factory midpipe. It is NLA and you can always sell just this pipe or keep for some other car/later.

Keep the factory exhaust manifold. I regret having thrown away a few over the years with scrap iron only to not have one when I got a engine/car that did not have an exhaust system.

Keep the factory muffler as there are always purists out there seeking to put OEM parts on restoration projects.

Also the exhaust shielding is sought after by others who again are doing restoration projects.

That's my .02 of advice.

Do you still have the converters?
I might be interested if they could be shipped for a reasonable cost. I wouldn't care how slow it the shipping was.
I'm in southern Missouri.

I wouldn't purchase it if there is any frame damage. Theft recovery shouldn't be an issue.

Nice thread revival with a unrelated post!
