GSL-SE Direct Fire ignition parts list.

I know these subject has been gone over quite a bit but after searching through a ton of threads and trying to decipher the different options for my car i have to ask.

i'm looking for the best option for my motor. 84-85 GSL-SE 13b 6-port.

Everything i've read doesn't say the difference between the 12a and 13b.

Whats the benefits of running a full MSD setup vs. using s4/s5 parts?

And most importantly can someone show me some pics installed? i'd like to use all new stuff.

Different people will have different answers. Odds are they're all correct. I have an MSD 6201 feeding an s4 coil. It works for me, 12a style.

Have any pics?

Basic DLIDFIS uses an extra ignitor and an extra coil, 12a or 13b doesn't matter. The leading pickup in the dizzy is wired to a pair or J109s, and each one controls a leading coil. The trailing works like stock, except the high tension wires are routed through the leading section of the cap/rotor to make less spark gaps to jump.

The basic ignition setup is the same for a 12A and a 13B. Just search on DFIS and get familiar with
how it works. As cookboy says, theres many ways to set this up and lots of different components
that can be used.

Here is an effective if not particularly glamorous setup. The strut bar started out as a temporary location, but has proven itself to be a good home for the bits.
