The great Winter 2005 Rx-7 Part PIF Thread (FB/SA edition)!

Ok, I was cleaning out the garage while winterizing my FC and instead of throwing away some of the billions of parts I have laying around I've thought of a better way to handle at least one of the parts and I'm sure others are in the same situation.

Here's how this works(BTW, PIF=Pay It Forward):

You create a post in this thread indicating that you wish to participate. Upon creating the post wait until the person above you PMs you to get your name and shipping address. Keep an eye on the thread and when someone posts a participation thread below you PM them and get their name and shipping address in turn.

That person will then send you a part out of their collection. You will then anxiously await for the moment when someone creates a post to participate after you and then you'll send them a part.

When you recieve your part, send an e-mail to rx-minnesota@comcast.net with a description of the part and the user you recieved it from along with a picture if you have one and I'll create a master list and post it when we finish.

When we choose to end this thread, the final participant will send me a part thus ending the great circle of rotary part sharing.

Sounds interesting, doesn't it? In fact, I got the idea from another forum member that was selling mystery parts on eBay and figured this would rock to do on a large scale and I knowof another forum that has done something similiar.

Here's the official rules:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Must be a FB/SA compatible part.

- Your shipping address must be within the connecting 48 states in the US. No one wants to pay $500 to ship a part to Mongolia or anything like that.

- Your post count must be greater then 127.

- To participate, create a post with the following: "I, <username> fully understand the rules and wish to participate." and wait to receive a PM from the person above you to get your name and shipping address.

- If you choose to participate you MUST FULLY COMPLY WITH THE RULES. That means that you can't just recieve a part and never send one out to the next guy in line. This would disrupt the circle and you'd look like a total douche-bag. Not to mention the sadness that would enter the lives of those that didn't recieve their suprise part.

- You are responsible for shipping costs.

- The item must be somewhat serviceable (meaning if it's not working correctly it must at least be repairable) and somewhat clean (who wants to get a box full of grease and a smelly part?)

- No nuts, bolts, single worn out bushings or anything that would be totaly retarded to recieve. Use your judgement on this and don't send something that's just plain stupid.

- Neither the forum or the PIF participants will be responsible if the part you recieve causes your car to go up in flames. Hopefully it won't if people act honorable in this exchange, but shit happens.

- Please include a sheet of paper explaining what the part is so someone doesn't recieve some injectosr or a CAS and not know what size/gen/etc they're for.

- Again, do not just screw the person after you and not ever PIF to the next guy. We will know if you screw someone over as it will be posted here and your honor will be tarnished forever.

- I reserve the right to alter the above rules if a situation arises that brings a problem to light. Please check them again before choosing to participate.

- I also do not take any responsibility for someone not shipping their part as they should and you are responsible for sorting out any conflicts. However, if someone is being a jerk-off, please feel free to post here and let us know.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's about it. The first person to create a participation thread below me will recieve a part from me. I have it boxed up and it will be dropped off at FedEx on Monday. That person will then comply with the rules and wait for a participant to post below them and will begin the circle.

Remember, do not send the part to just the first person that has something to say below you, but to someone who posts the actual particpant text as outlined in teh rules.

That is all, let the flow of parts begin!

Each geneartion now has it's own thread in each section. Please post in the one in which you'd like to participate. Thanks!

Ack! I forgot to mention that I cannot start the FB/SA PIF. I don't have any 1st gen parts so someone will have to step-up and begin. Keep in mind you will get a part from the last person to participate in the circle, it will just take awhile longer the normal. Thanks!

I'd say since you're going to be the one to step up and start the FB/SA circle, then we'll make an exception. Now you just have to wait for someone to pipe in and sign-up below you. :D

Thread temporarily locked until I can verify that permission has been given for this.
