yesterday I push started my 7 and now shes on the road again. When it started up it shot up to 5k and wouldnt fall, I poped the hood and played with the throttle to see if something was sticking. After doing that I got it to idle around 2k. When I put preasure on the throttle to lower the rpms it goes to just under 1k, but when I release preasure it raises back up to 2 or 3k. Same thing when pushing the accelerator. How would I go about adjusting that?

Two quick questions: What is the reservoir just in front of the oil cap... Black cap that only says "open---> close--->? And also, the white reservoir on the passanger side firewall just under the windsheild wiper fluid? I dont have my book handy.

The first thing is for power steering fluid. The second is the sub-zero injection reservior. It injects a mix of antifreeze and water into the intake when temp are below 0. Many times they don't work and can br removed.

sub-zero injection reservior: is this something that needs filled, or does it just cycle on its own?

It needs to be refilled if it is working. Like I say, the motors on them typically seize up and they don't work. They also only operate in very cold weather. It takes a 90/10 antifreeze/water mix.

The first thing I do when messing with that sort of thing is adjust the float bowls. Then it is way easier to adjust the idle. maybe someone can better describe where the idle adjust screw and mixture screws are, I have been using an aftermarket carb for a while, and can hardly remember.

And on his car what you do is raise or lower the Injectors to accomplish the same thing.



Congrats on getting the car started. I use the old pull start with any problem car.

thanks, it feels like I get a new car every spring! Just have to figure out how to fix the idle, oil cooler, suspension... well maybe not brand new, damn.

there is an adjustment screw on the firewall side of the TB it adjusts the main throttle plates. i had to play with mine to fine tune my idle after i adjusted my TPS, and my adjustment screw on the top of the TB.

LongDuck is the man on this one..do a search for the TB procedure on SE's
you basically need to oil your throttle body rods..remove the air hose 2/ 12mm nuts..lube the butterflies liberally..the plates tend to stick..brass in aluminum casing...try this..also from what you wrote you may have a throttle cable issue..either way do the procedure and see what happens
