Is this a good deal?

I could use a little help, I have found a guy with a 85 gsl w/ 48,000 miles mint no rust. Ive seen pics the car is clean. He's asking $5000.00 and will not give on the price, is it a good deal? I'm selling my Bike to get this and don't want to over pay. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Joe

It depends what you want out of the car. If you are looking to mod the car, i would look for something cheaper as in less than $1k, but if you are looking for a stocker to restore and keep stock, the price is alright.

$5K is a bit on the high side, unless the car is absolutely showroom mint.
A car like that is not something you would want to start modding, or use as a DD. Driving it occasionally is fine, but daily driving would add miles fast, and kill the value. Would be very hard to get that much back out of it, should an accident occur.

In year 1999 I bought a Wisconsin ZERO RUST/CLEAN (never driven in the winter) 1985 RX-7 "S" car with 81,000 miles for $3,200.00.

I would say $5K for an 85 GSL-SE with those miles would be worth looking at for sure. But an 85 GSL? I would want to see it in person (not just pictures) Find out what this car's history is? Did it get the 48k miles in 5 years and then been stored for the last 18 years? Or has the car been driven on clear roads on sunny days for the past 23 years? These cars don't store well for any great length of time and many become time/labor/money/parts intensive projects due to prolonged storage. It comes down to what "you" are willing to pay? What are "your" plans for this car? What does having an RX-7 means to you?

I'm NOT looking for a mod car, I all ready have a 3rd gen for that. I want a stock all original car and plain on keeping it that way.
The pics I've seen of the car look good, even the spare tire looks like its never been used. My fiancee thinks 5k is a bit high for a old car, she doesn't under stand its hard to find one in good condition.
Here is a pic of my car with a car I would love to have. This is from this pass weekend at the Woodward dream cruise.
