Getting hot
Hi guys,
I have been wondering this for some time. Why is being overheated paricularly bad for rotarys? I mean it is bad for any engine to be overheated, but it seems that rotarys dislike it more than most, what is the reason for this? Thanks! |
Overheating damages your apex seals, etc. which are vital to a rotary engine's function

Overheating an engine also makes the oil less able to lube the moving parts. We all know what happens to moving parts that aren't properly lubed.
|
There are very large rubber-type seals around each rotor housing that keep the fluids out of the combustion chamber. Overheating the engine can and will break these seals down and thus turns your rotary engine into a water pump. :D
