Gas Tanks - Reg FB vs SE
I've been considering a blowthrough turbo setup for the 4 port 13B SP I am building. If I do build it, I'm looking to throw down about 250-280 at the wheels. I read about how the SE fuel tank has baffles around the pickups to reduce the fuel sloshing around during aggresive driving. Should I be alright using the tank from my 83? It seems that there shouldnt be any problems as long as you don't let the fuel level go down to low.

The 83 tank should be fine, though you can lessen the chance of getting air in the lines a few ways. Two of the best ones are to stuff the tank with fuel cell foam, or to install a surge tank in-line. Better yet, do both.

Is a surge tank just a small container outside the fuel tank so that even if the fuel sloshes in the big tank, there is still plenty in the surge? This would go before the pump, correct? Where can I find this foam you speak of?

If you keep that 83 tank don't let it go below half.
