Fuel system for over 400 RWHP

I finally dynoed my SA. We had a fuel pressure problem at 5K and higher. I need to revise my fuel system a little. I have a -se tank feeding a aeromotive pre-pump filter then to a walbro in-line pump then to a before the eng filter to a Y block feeding each rails. they exit each rail and go to a aeromotive FPR then return to tank. My line are all SS from the tank to eng on both feed and return. -* A/N feed and -6 A/N return. I just ordered a A1000 pump to replace the walbro. I shuld be good now right? What are the guys running over 400 rwhp using for a fuel system? Thanks.. I made 300.50 RWHP and 294 torque on a 3rd gear pull to 5k.. Can't wait to get this fuel pressure issue fixed.. Will do over 400 @15psi..

Nice #s there gonzz. I'm working on adapting the 2nd gen intank pump and pickup to the FB fuel tanks. I have seen some of the high hp guys running 2 walbros, side by side on the 2nd oem intank unit. Not sure how they set them up though.

I'm running a Bosh Motorsports fuel pump with an MSD Fuel Pump booster. The setup hasn't run yet, buy my calculations indicated more than enough fuel at 1 bar boost.

Did you get the adapter kit for the a1000? It allows for the pump to fit to AN fittings.

For high output motors, I would do it:
Tank ==>> fuel pump ==>> surge tank ==>> fuel pump ==>> F/I

I will get a adapter to -8 A/N local. We have many speed shops here that sell them

i don't see how you're running out of fuel. i would remove the filters and see if there is a difference. your current pump setup will suffice 400rwhp.

also, just curious... but why are you doing your dyno pulls in 3rd? 4th is 1:1 and will more effectively load the engine for real world driving. plus it could affect your numbers. good luck with the problem and i look forward to seeing what she'll do :)

A1000 should be good.

Hey guys, I agree with the A1000, but I have a couple of questions of my own...

Will using a small external carter carb fuel pump be sufficient to feed the surge tank before the aeromotive A1000?

Also what fuel pressure regulator are you guys using for these 400 rwhp applications?

Thanks

Should i install a surge tank? I don't do any autocross.. Thanks

a surge tank is for always having fuel there under a high load.. i.e. - 1/4 mile or a nice highway race etc....

it also eliminates pulsing from the pump and is just good peace of mind. completely un-neccessary for 400rwhp setups but hey, if you can afford it then go for it :D if you put the a1000 on your going to have enough fuel for 800rwhp hahaha.

ooops, just realized i'm on my bosses name. sorry this is no_rotor again. lol!
