Fuel Pumps

Whats a good fuel pump for a turbo 12a application?
I think an external electric one like the stock pump is good.
Are there any almost stock replacement ( i mean like pull out old and the new one fits right in) performance pumps?
Im trying to keep things simple :)

sorry i've been absent from the forums for awhile im working hard on this. The 12A turbo motor is in the process of being worked on and I'll take pics when I get it back. Its getting tapped and all the new oil lines are being made. thanks guys!

I found this but its 4psi won't be nearly enough to feed this beast. Carter GP60504http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

i would say prolly a holley red or blue...the red you can get 7psi you can always put a regulator

teddyrx2 04-19-08 06:35 PM

holley blue

RustyRotary 04-19-08 06:52 PM

I got a Mallory Comp 70. Works geat. Though I've heard good things about the Holley's

Rotospeed 04-20-08 12:44 AM

holly pumps arnt to good for boost. you can get a walbro inline and i think a gsl-se pump will work.

you need your base psi. (7) for a holley i think, boost psi (10) and line loss (5) so you will need 22 psi. and a boost ref. psi. reg. like a aeromotive 13301 or a mallory 4307m or 4309.

check out turbomustangs.com for more good info. :)

walbro 255 is a popular one with the T2 guys

Directfreak 04-20-08 05:27 PM

Fuel Injection or Carburated?

A good one for a blow-thru setup is the Stock GSL-SE one with a Malpassi RRFPR.

im goin overkill on my turbo setup now, just in case i want to go injected later on. im using an Aeromotive A1000 regulator and a Holley in-line EFI pump (actually a Walbro 255 packaged in a holley box ;))

Mallory Carb low pressure pre-pump, surge tank, Bosch/Aeromotive high output, Mallory boost sensitive return style regulator that can be cranked down to carby pressure.

As always...somehow contact Robert at RotaryShack....he's the boost pro.

Excellent so a stock SE pump could really handle it? Its going to be a side draft carby draw through system. Its basically the Arkay Turbo kit.

Directfreak 04-21-08 12:27 AM

Then you're golden. Just get a good RRFPR.

Ok so this is the fuel pressure regulator im looking at.

I took rotospeed's suggestion. But then i was thinking im getting an rx7 fuel pump so why not a 93-95 fuel pressure regulator if it worked for them why wouldn't work with mine? Plus i think it'd be kinda cool to use as many stock rx7 parts as possible.

that looks good to me. its what i was going to get but i got a deal on a A100.

the 93-95 reg is for fuel injected and i dont think it will adjust down to the pressure that you need.

im also going to use a fuel pump for a gsl-se because i think it will work fine.
what carb are you useing?

Eriks85Rx7 04-22-08 11:23 PM

Im not quite sure what brand it is i need to find the branding on it. Its a dual stack side draft carb. Heres the ebay pictures i have of it.

wow that looks like a jet engine!

Rotospeed 04-23-08 01:31 PM

that looks cool... i missed that your doing a drawthrough i dont think that you need a rrfpr because the boost isn't going through the carb.

Eriks85Rx7 04-23-08 06:21 PM

well crap haha i bought the pump and regulator already..

yetterben 04-23-08 07:02 PM

I have never seen a draw through like that before. Usually it sits on a carb box huh. Cool!
