Fuel Pump/Tank Questions - Has Anyone Done An In-Tank Retrofit

Hey all, thought I would bounce this one off those smarter and more experienced than me.

I have 1980 RX with an EFI engine swap. I'd love to have an in-tank pump setup. I found a retrofit kit from Hyperfuel (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/HPF-40015) that uses a narrower mounting plate that might fit at the top of the tank. Before I cut into this tank, I would like to know if there are any baffles or other obstructions below this circled area that would interfere.

I know these tanks don't have any, or good, baffles or cups for EFI setups. But thought maybe this with a Holley HydraMat might be better than using an inline pump I have now.

If anyone has any experience with modifying SA tanks I'd love to hear about it.

once u get the tank out of the car, shine a light into where the filler neck connects then look thru where the level sender attaches to the tank. u will be able to see everything inside the tank. already have done this and there's really nothing under that area.

As stated, you'll have no issue getting that to fit in the tank. The tough part is going to be dealing with the lack of baffles in the tank in your case. I'm currently fighting that with my setup, it sucks to say the least - and I have an SE tank with some baffling and a slosh cup!
