fuel leak.

I noticed a little wet spot underneath my SE and discovered that there is a small fuel leak at the fuel pump. I just put a new pump in. Everything is tight, but I guess for some reason maybe the copper washer didn't seat right or something. Anyway, until I can go underneath and fix it, I'm wondering if such a small leak would cause any future performance issues as far as fuel pressure is concerned?

Most people say to always install new copper washers and most pumps and filters come with new washers. Anyway, i don't think there would be any performance issues but I wouldn't want fuel spraying out near the muffler. do you know how hot those things get?

Fix it. Not worth the risk of a car fire to skimp on copper washers. NAPA has those in bins that you can fit for the installation you need. Have a look there,
