Fuel, compression, spark, but no start.
 

When attempting to crank last night it failed to start. It would just crank and crank but never start. I ended up smelling gas in the engine bay and assuming it was flooded. I got a ride back out to autozone tonight (where I had to leave her) to attempt to crank assuming all the gas had evaporated. There was no smell of gasoline but it still would not start. The engine turns over well and it definitely was getting gas (could smell it in the engine bay again) but would not crank. I pulled the plugs and they were extremely dirty and oiled but still got a spark. I decided to replace them anyway, I had already planned on it and I was already at autozone. I crank the engine twice with the spark plugs out to purge it of any excess gas. I heard a strong sound of air with no real breaks which from what I have read means good compression. I put the new plugs in and attempted to crank, but still no help. I slowly pumped more gas and pulled the choke out more but it still would not crank.

So I have a spark, fuel, and compression. That should be all I need to crank. When the key is in the "on" position I can hear a very rapid loud clicking from my fuel pump. Is it possible the fuel pump is bad and delivering too much fuel so it doesn't have enough air to crank? I completely lost and have no clue what to do.

I forgot that while replacing a belt I disconnected the distributor cap to retrieve a tool that fell. I did not realise that it had to be reinstalled the exact same way it was removed so my timing was off.

you dont make sense. I dont see how a "distributor cap" will screw up your timing. there is more to it.

My guess is while torquing his alternator bolt he dropped his wrench down between the alt and dizzy cap. Maybe he put the cap on backwards?

Does that mean its fine and running now?

That is exactly what happened Funk. Except I was tightening the bolt on the part that the the belt on the driver's side hooks up to. Not sure what its called. I'm pretty sure that when I pulled the distributor cap off I accidently turned the gear below it. It is fixed and running great now though.
