Front Strut Assemblies Help
 

Got an extra set of strut assemblies for my coilover upgrade but is having a hard time getting the shock cardtridge to come out. Did some of the assemblies from SA/FBs come without the shock cardtridge insert and that you only had to add the shock fluids to the tube itself? If so is there a special tube to remove them?

SA struts were fluid filled with no cartridge. By memory I think you have to unscrew the gland
nut on the top of the cartridge to pop it open. The FSM probably describes how to open it up.

i had stuck ones too. what i did was install the springs and coil overs, and i just used the heaight adjuster and spring to press the insert out

Ok Thanks for the help. Looked on the Snap-On Truck for the tool but it is discontinued. They are from a 1980 RX-7. I will just proceed with the welding of the lower spring perches and order some suspension fluid from AMSOil.
