tommyeflight89 - measure the length of the zinc plated portion of the front struts. how long is it?? It should be 8.5" long. Mine were 9.75" (1.25" too long)
Tylerx7fb - with the improper struts that they sent me (1.25" too tall), I have 1/2" space between top of tire and the fender.
With the proper struts, the tire will be tucked in the fender for sure. Nose won't be dragging on the ground tho.

I will double check but I am pretty sure that my front struts are also too long...
I will email Stance about this ASAP.
So I measure the entire length of the damper tube? Mine certainly aren't 8.5" long.
Edit: Well my strut body is also 9.75 overall length. Really not impressed. No point in installing them until I get proper length struts.
Thanks IoTus for sharing this.
I have emailed Andrei and waiting for feedback.

Ah ok, I'm gonna hold off until this strut issue gets sorted. I want nice suspension that could do it all
Nice se by the way I really like the polished wheels . I sorta want my car to sit like how the Randall's are in the background but at the same time I dont. Really annoying haha.

Yes, support with them has been great. Andrei will be sending me out new front dampers with a Fedex return slip to secnd me back the ones I recieved.
In any case, still waiting on getting the sleeve welded to a set of spindles. And will probably order new front end hardware (rotors, bearings/seals) just to do that at the same time.
And of course TTT lower control arms and tension rods (:
IoTus please let us know how the fender rolling goes. I will most likely do mine and want to avoid cracking or damaging my original paint.... Thats what has me worried. Car looks good, sitting nice.

That looks super nice! I'm going to order these asap now. Is it fully low or at a moderate setting? Either way I only want to get rid of my horrid wheel gap.
Anybody think the race spec will be too much for a daily/drift car? My car rides like crap now anyways and I don't mind noises but I've never rode in a stiff coiled car for long to tell.

The front is slammed as low as it can go in that pic, but there are ways of making it lower depending on how you prep the spindles. These spindles i bought pre-welded, and they have the original strut tube inside that has been chopped off. this is limiting how low I can thread the strut in. If the inner OEM strut tube were removed I'd be able to lower it an additional 3/4". You can also grind away where the strut sleeve mounts to for an additional 1/2" of low.
I'm noticing on their site that the race kit has a 50mm longer spring up front. In a sense, that means 50mm less low.

Looks sweet!
I think race would be very stiff... compare the street spec to even the stiffest available aftermarket lowering springs and they are still quite a bit stiffer.
I am still waiting for my new front struts. I am also waiting for spindles so I can get everything welded and together before I rip the original stuff out.

Final stages of Stance Coilover install - fender roll and alignment and she's back on the road.
My shop says I have about 1-1.25" more to drop in the front, and about .75" to drop in the rear, however I will need narrower tires as my 215/60 are too tall and wide, will hit the unibody. I am very happy with this height, given the tire width and fitment.

I haven't logged in since 2011 and sold my FC3S in 06 or 07.
This makes me want to get back in the game. After a long hiatus fiddling with an Integra, Miata and finally a 14' 6, I think I'm gunna pick up an FB just to utilize the newly developed coilovers. I was originally going to go with TTT but Stance is about on-par, quality-wise, with Megan (which I used in my Miata and 6).
Good read, guys. Keep the info coming in!

I received my new (correct length) front struts from Andrei and will hopefully be getting them welded to spindles soon.
Hopefully get all of this installed before winter comes and the FB goes away.
Here is a pic of how my FB currently sits on its rather high stock suspension. Wheels are 15x7+20 Rota Mesh OS's.

Direct link to coilovers:
STANCE Super Sport Coilovers Mazda RX7 79-85 FB - Race Consulting Agency
Update: I've worked with my shop to get the coilovers isntalled, we had to hammer out the rear spring seats to allow the extra-wide springs /perches to sit flush.
The rear springs still do not seat on the axle perch correctly, and have massive overlap with the control arms. It's eaten through the plastic coating on the springs and is now cutting into the spring.
The rear suspension squeaks over every detail of the road, but the ride quality is excellent.
My car is a GSL-SE model, so it's possible that the spring sizes differ from non-GSL-SE.
It is my understanding that they are working with Stance to get narrower springs for the rear. When that happens, this will be THE suspension setup to have. SO much adjustability and excellent handling!

Hey guys, Maybe you could help me out with having my spindles welded up for my Stance coilovers.
I have found that the lower bracket supplied by stance doesn't fit very well onto the OEM spindles. The ID of the bracket is much larger than the stub left over from chopping off the original strut tube. And to make it worse, the OD of the bracket is basically as large as the casting of the spindle.
I do not see how I could just take it to a shop and ask them to weld it up, it doesn't fit together well at all.
I will edit this post with pics later.
I am wondering if it because I have small bearing (1982) spindles... but I would think that the large bearing spindles (1984,1985) would have the same geometry just larger spindle dias..

Any update on the Stance Coilovers? Below is a picture of the redesign. What is the line that I circled below for? Does anyone have images of the install for the front?
