Thanks Sterling! I'll give that stuff a whack before I go stripping emissions tomorrow. I'll post my results as always.

Well, here's my update!

I stripped the emissions crap out of the car... Kicked it out of the car like a Hep C tranny.

Runs great now! Exactly as I expected it to the first time.. My faith in carburetors has risen a smidge.

Currently waiting for it to cool off to make sure the adjustments I made will work cold.

Thanks for everybodies help. I'm convinced I had a HUGE vacuum leak somewhere...

As frustrating as getting a fresh rebuild, or a fresh carb started can be, let alone both at the same time, the rewards will out weigh all of it when you can run through the gears at 7k.

Take your time with the break in and enjoy your hard work, congratulations.

I'm convinced it was just vacuum leaks at this point.. I'm sure the carb rebuild had something to do with it.. but I doubt my engine rebuild had anything to do with it. Never had a full rebuild (new housings) give me problems... without new housings, sure.. I can see that..

I'm just glad its mostly out of the way. Now I just have to adjust the idle high and leave it alone until its broken in.. then I can futz with it. I'll be making the rest of the car road-worthy tonight.

What ever happened to your 2nd gen project? Glad to see things are looking better.
