I'm trying to come up with some different mounting ideas for a fmic. I was thinking of mounting a spearco where the AC condenser used to be. Also I like the NPR's I'm just trying to figure out how hard it would be to make the pipes come out the sides instead of underneath the radiator.

Mine come out at the side.

I have a 2.5" pipe going from turbo to I/C, and 3" from I/C to inlet. It's just a matter of cutting the appropriate holes in the radiator supports for the pipes to fit through.

I'm not sure I have any pics though... On the weekend maybe.

so YapaKanichi, and S2-13BT have NPR's with the piping coming out the sides? is there any way you guys could get some pics so I can get a better idea of how to do mine.

It's not a rotary, but it does have an NPR

Mines not an NPR. It's a custom cooler made by Rice Racing. It's the same as the one Setzep uses, and there are some pics of his somewhere...

I ran mine downward through the "floor" behind the headlights.They travel along the inner fenderwells because I installed my IC up front in the airdam.Its a little furthur away,but the IC mounting was easy.I just cut a notch in each side of the airdam and slid the IC in like loading a cassette into a stereo.

I've got two questions...S2-13BT Whats the size of the intercooler you guys used?
and steve84GS TII I really like the look of your setup. how hard was it to pipe it?

where in CA are you? Piping is not that hard. Just by a couple of 90/45 and U bends from JC Whitney and have some people weld it for you.

This is probably considered thread jacking but, it's just a simple question and I didn't want to start a new thread just for this:

You guys running a FMIC, do you still use the plastic grill vents or did you remove them? I'm not running a turbo/FMIC but DO plan on using a FM Oil Cooler in the near future. Plus, I hate the looks of the "black fins" but didn't know if my engine would overheat without it.

I don't run mine. I don't think they'd really do much, it's probably more for looks than anything.



Steve84GS TII, that's an amazing looking setup you've got there! Very nice.

The pipe kit is a Greddy 60MM universal kit.Comes with the couplers,clamps,2 aluminum elbows and more than enough mild steel mandrel bends.About 200 bucks.

The welding was easy since its clean steel and the ends are beveled which gives you a nice trench to fill.Still,I ground and covered each weld with a narrow strip of coupler and clamps.The section at the TB was done twice because I ran out of pipe due to a snafu.Thats why theres so many welds/clamps in that area.I gotta get a TIG and redo it with aluminum pipe.
Learn to weld,its an invaluble skill for a wrenchhead, and you can get a decent MIG for not much money.

Where did you get the greddy kit at?? I can weld... I was just wondering how hard it was to run the piping

Anyone that sells Greddy products.My buddy has a wholesalers account with Options Auto Salon,but any speedshop or online company that sells Greddy can get you the kit.

The fittment was easy.Just select the first bend from the turbo and work your way towards the IC.Its easy to make the pipe go where you want with multiple bends.Just butt the 2 pipes together and rotate one until its pointed where you want it.Then cut off any extra,and tack them together.Continue until youve reached the IC,then fully weld them up.Repeat the process for the other side,starting at the IC and working your way to the throttle.

I mostly used the 45* bends and the straights.The 90* bends were used at the turbo and IC connections.I was left with several 15* bends unused.I cut them up for straight pieces to finish my path to the TB.
