Fixing up the suspension. Help me make a list of parts
 

I am fairly new to FBs and need to fix up the suspension on my Gsl-se. Everything is original. All the bushing, tie rod ends, etc. I'm looking to replace all the worn out parts so my car handles better and I don't damage my new tires, but I need help making a list of parts to buy.

So far, I know I need:
Moog idler arm
Tie rod ends
Sway bar bushings
Sway bar end links (?)

What else?

Get the full Energy Suspension bushing set in black. This will include all bushings you need.

Here's one. Not sure it's the best price.

Ball joints
Outer tie rod ends
Inner tie rod ends
Tie rod end adjusting sleeves
Idler arm

Do those things and you'll feel like you have a whole new car, handling-wise at least.

Front wheel bearings will make a load of difference if not properly adjusted.

Wheel bearings are a good one to add as well, along with struts. 30 year old struts/shocks don't hold a candle to a new set of struts/shocks!

Struts and shocks might have to wait. I already spent over $300 on tires and am about to spend another few hundred on these suspension parts. And after that, I really need to upgrade my brakes. The pads are ancient and rotors are original...

Total: $416

Anyone have any feedback or know where I can get these parts cheaper? Because this is so pricey I will hold off on the struts for now. Brakes are next on my list, then struts. One thing at a time.

Unfortunately, that's the cheapest you'll find parts most likely.

No worries if that's the case. I don't want to skimp on parts. Thanks for all the help

I replaced all the front bushing in the front of my car and it made a big difference.The car rides way smoother. I went to mazdatrix to purchase new lower control arms because I heard the bushings are not meant to be removed and pressed in. I still need to get some front struts too. I am leaning towards some Koni yellows.

You may feel more difference changing struts and springs instead of some of the steering components, you definitely want a stiffer set up than stock to get the most from modern tires

What is the consensus on replacing the oem rear upper and lower control arms and watts links with poly bushings?

Some people recommend it and others say it ruins the rear ends behaviour due to binding and oem is the only way to go..

Reviving my old thread because it's time to do the struts.

I'm thinking of tokico blues and racing beat springs. I'm ok with a stiff but comfortable ride for daily driving and a slight drop in ride height and it sounds like that's what I'll get. Also, I have tokico Blues in my mazdaspeed protege from the factory and they have been great.

I think the cheapest place is now mazdatrix since racing beat has raised their prices. The rears are $91 each and the fronts are $75 each. Anyone have other suggestions or know of a better place to buy them?

I can tell you the GX2 struts cannot handle the RB springs, the blues may be
better.
