This is the first snow season that I've driven mine with the SE lsd installed. I've only driven one winter without it, so it could well be that I'm just better at it, but the lsd seems to make a big difference.
I keep all the sensible crap in my car, too, plus a bag of sand for wieght and/or to get me out of a jamb in ice.

I'm going to turn my "kinda rusty" (it's getting there) 83 into a swow cruiser...jack it up and put truck tires on it. A mishap or two won't upset me so much in that.
I hate driving my 85 in the snow. There's no rust on it, but this is the first salt winter it's ever seen. It's a Florida car with no undercoating.:(

Gas is heavy. I keep the tank full. Plus the sand. Good tires, and sensible driving, and it'll do ya fine.

snow is definatly a blast in a first gen, especially here in NJ where we ge some pretty good snow. As long as you keep momentum up while hill climbing you'll go fine. Go find a parking lot an do some donuts while you're at it. :D
