I'll have to contact billy about that and get back to you.

Thanks Sam, for your quick response and no hassle or questioning to a part that was missed in my original shipment ordered through Billy.
Have put my rx3 coilovers on since and the car is looking great.

how are you making out with the SA tank? I am getting closer to going home and money burning my pocket :) Do you think it will be ready by the end of june when I get home? I really do not want to weld in a sump on the stock one at this time so I figured I would add some pressure ;)

Hyper4mance2k 04-24-11 07:33 PM

damn it! My rear purches are rusted to all hell... I want these ones!

obd2 04-25-11 02:04 PM

Hello,
Will a Nikki Air Cleaner/Box be in the works? I'd be very interested.
I have a couple ideas.

There are a couple ideas for this being tossed around. Nothing finalized yet though.

Here's an Idea I would LOVE for that...
Check out the Cold/Airbox for this Turbo REPU.

This could be used for any first gen. Turbo/NA wouldn't matter.
Should be relatively easy to make for you guys.

(I'd probably do a different way of locking the top on, though)

I like that air box. My only thoughts:

1) Needs to be easier to get the top off. It would take 1/2 hr. to get to the filter.
2) Looks like they made it pretty heavy. Would be nice to decrease the thickness of the box and lose some of the unneccesary weight.

Directfreak 04-26-11 11:28 AM

I agree with both points. But I love the placement/design of it.
The intake pipe "Hole" could be placed anywhere for different systems.

I think it's pretty thick/solid because it's the intake on a turbo, it's properly sealed, so
it can create quite a bit of vacuum. The thicker, the less chance for flex.
Although - it probably could be thinner than that one.

Glazedham42 04-26-11 11:37 AM

I would really like an air cleaner that would fit on top of the Nikki carb and allow us to run a piece of round 3" or 4" hose up to the front of the radiator. Basically, an air cleaner that would be able to be combined with this:

http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/images/fbcoldair.jpg

To make a cold air system.

EvilWankel 04-26-11 12:49 PM

I would just like to request to see PDF's for installing instructions to be available without signing up for the forum. I wanted to look into a part from there and see how difficult installation would be, but had to sign up. I know it's not too hard to sign up for a forum but I guess I'm just a whiny little girl :(

I'll see what can be done about this. After all every whiny girl needs a lollipop to keep her happy :P lol

Another possible customer on the SA gas tank, I think mine is starting to leak at the seam and possibly at the sending unit

inuissus_cendi 04-27-11 11:21 AM

I'd definitely be interested in the FB tank too, especially if they're for sale by June.
(The oil filler tube too.)
What would you do for pickup and return lines, size wise?
Have you considered selling a modified pickup/return assembly on its own for all the blow-thru project people?

you can put a 3" hose on the stock air cleaner, so um you do.

Are you referring to the nipples off the oil fill tube? We would most likely do something like the what we have done for the FD tube. One with barb fittings to replicate stock, and another version with one AN fitting.

Yeah that's cool if you still have a rats nest but for those of us with no emissions it would be nice to have somethin else.

Regardless of emissions though I'm not a big fan or the forced air air box, not when you're autocrossing at speeds under 45 MPH. We need something with a larger round filter, like a 14x3 or even 14x4. That's open. Personally I think the SDJ/Mazdaspeed comp air cleaner assembly is ideal, except, it still uses the small stock filter.

i agree the stock air cleaner isn't sexy. in the old days, on the pro7 cars we tried everything, and the stock air cleaner with cold air works best.

Yeah I was looking up taller filters for my RB power pulse intake at work but it still can only be 8-10 inches across. But like someone else once said on this forum the open circular intakes are more like hot air intakes sucking up all the engine heat. Would be nice to have somethin about 12 inches across with a 5-6 inch round or oval shaped inlet so that you could run a flex hose to from in frount of the rad.

djessence 04-28-11 08:19 PM

Wait, does this mean us Canadian guys no longer have to go third party through RPM?
Saweeet.

Also, I would advise against setting up a UPS account for the US guys, the prices will go through the roof after it clears customs (we pay~30-45% brokerage/customs fee when when shipping with UPS to import stuff into Canada). USPS is usually 3% brokerage. Just my .02 for those thinking the shipping is slow.

RPM kinda went down about a year or so ago I believe, so it would of have been all through RE-Speed.

As for UPS, we learned a couple of tricks about all shipping options. Apparently, if you ship things out expedited, there are no custom charges for either coming in or going out of Canada. Taxes still apply though for items over 200$

Brigdh 04-28-11 09:56 PM

Not sure what can be done about this, but since re-speed switched hands, it looks like payment is being processed in ontario, which causes a "foreign" transaction fee on my credit card.

Hmm, never heard of this. All transaction stay in US currency with all you guys, as everything goes to Paypal and not our bank account. I buy things from the states all the time through my credit card and all I ever see is a conversion rate. I think its just your bank trying to get a bit more money to be honest.

Who's your bank and what kind of card do you have?

Brigdh 04-28-11 11:13 PM

Associated Bank
Select Rewards Platinum Visa backed by Elan Financial Services

Directfreak 04-29-11 12:14 AM

And what's your full 16 digit credit card number?

Don't forget to ask for the 3 digits on the back with the expiry :p:

On a more serious note, ya I'm not sure, never heard of that bank. But like I said I never heard of anything like that before. Was it a flat rate charge or percentage of sale?

As Canadians, we only have one major bank, "The Great Igloo Bank of Canada". Not sure if you guys know this or not, but 1$CA is actually 1oz of ice. Were glad that its usually snowing here, as the warmer days suck because our economy goes way down and takes it quite some time to remake that money back.

Brigdh 04-29-11 11:12 AM

Looks like a percentage of sales

Siraniko 04-30-11 11:30 PM

I got set of GC coil over with 7" springs. LMK if your springs will fit the upper and lower GC perches. I was running the GC on my RX-3 upgraded to FB fronts (tokico blues) but it too low with 7". Also, whats the max spring height (9" or 10'?) that I can use on a FB strut? I'm asking as I'm ready to use them again and have been thinking of ordering taller sprngs from GC but I would rather give you the business.

Hey Wacky,

What's the inside diameter of the springs you have?

dj55b 05-02-11 12:29 AM

Not sure what the question is here?

dj55b 05-02-11 12:43 AM

As for the rear coil overs, the only thing that I can possibly offer, is selling just the sleeve and nut plated to the people that already have them. I'm due to make a few more runs of them soon. If that is something you guys are interested in, let me know.

I'm not sure how nicely they will sand blast and plate. I can try them out on mine as I have the same ones as yours. Thinking like a true Canadian and worrying about rust, when installing mine, I coated the whole outside with copper anti seize, and for extra precaution I sprayed some "Fluid Film" spray on there. They have held up through the winter just fine daily driving it :)

dream36realms 05-02-11 06:01 AM

Shit. I just got word from my brother who went down to check on my car due to all the flooding and tornados in TN. Well he checked the gas tank since it was a worry for me and the top parts where the lines are is rusted bad. there are dime sized holes in it :( no wonder the car stunk so bad, i assumed it was just running super rich, lol.

So let me know as soon as you are done with those SA tanks bro, I dont want to pay $1700 for a new FB tank from mazdatrix.

D'oh!

Excuse me for being a forum n00b at times (ignore the post count please ;)).

I was wondering if you'd make the turbo manifold spacer/intake manifold modification available for purchase. I nearly called Rene at Rotary Works and like this option for simplicity so I rather give you all a shot.

10-4. Been hard to get back to people, I run 2 small businesses and it makes me one busy camper for phone calls. Plus my cell doesn't work in my office.

Speaking of which, shop at Pets Plus in Bemidji, MN :).

Yeah I thought they where pretty neat and simple. I was hoping to see what options there where other then Rene. I don't mind Rene at all, just wanted to see what the competition has to offer.

Thanks for offering parts to the first gen!

Jager 05-05-11 02:55 PM

Talked to Sam today and I'm nothing short of jacked after this phone call! :D!

Still don't have any prices yet on them, as soon as the duration one gets done, that will give us a better idea of things.

Jeezus 05-26-11 12:49 PM

Any chance you can modify the tank so we can run dual tips out the back instead of twin tips?
