fd alt swap wiring question

i just put an fd alt on my 84 gsl-se and was wondering if i can run the positive cable directly from the alt to the batt. or do i still have to go to the connection that is on the dynamic chamber first?

I think max7 has done the FD alternator swap. He might know

It won't cause a problem unlike the inutitive thought that it would....I've had the TII 80 amp alternator wired both ways in two different cars and never had a problem with either set-up, just with Cadillacs pulling out in front of me in the rain..lol...

I ran a larger cable directly to the battery. If you got a larger alt with more amps, I think its a good idea to upgrade the power cables. :)

yep. i am going to run 8 gauge for the alt to the batt wire

what exactly is that connection all about on the dynamic chamber? is it some kind of resister or something?

looks to be just a mounting tab. I took it off and grounded the mounting hole off the plenum when I polished it.
