The rotors attach to the hubs. FYI. It's a two piece unit unlike the fb's one piece.

Yes I have found that out...

the ad says billet aluminum in one place and zinc plated in another.

Billy, the normal zinc plating used for steel cannot be used... but if Aluminum has to be zinc Plated, Zincating is the first step after pre treatment, followed by 8-10 microns in Alk Cn free Zinc, rinses, activation, Chromate then Drying.

Anyway, you're right in that they're probably not doing that. But it is possible so it didn't cross my mind. Think they have zinc plated steel hubs and aluminum rotors? Or aluminum hubs and zinc plated steel rotors? The rotors either way dont sound appealing to me.

Regardless I still haven't found a better option than converting to mount the gen2 4 piston stuff for performance and cost.

Is upgrading the brake rotor size and calipers really worth it? Getting competition pads will improve stopping power dramatically without breaking the bank on conversion kits.

Just my 0.02.

True, and bigger brakes wont mean squat if you dont increase your tire traction.Remember, the tires stop the car,not the brakes..............

Most likely aluminum hubs and 'hats', and zinc-washed cast iron rotors (on the Street kit) The zinc washing is supposed to help them last longer. At the very worst, they keep the non-braking surfaces of the rotor from rusting.

I did some internet snooping on "Zincating". I stand corrected. Although it does not seem to be used widely throughout the east coast. None of my suppliers do it or have heard of it. Maybe I need new suppliers :)
