FB "the next cool old school Fad"

I have a feeling within the next few years the fb's and sa's are going to become very desirable.. Once the "sport compact" scene picks up on how much ass end sliding power is availible from these capable cars. ESPECIALLY now that drifting is hitting the US coast like a hurricane. I think value will skyrocket. I mean look at the corrolla ae86's 3 years ago you couldn't give one away, now some magazines did some write ups on them in JAPAN and now you cant find a rusted out poorly running one for under $2500. The Media will pick up on our cars comercialize them and then you'll see people paying $1500 for a shell... You wait and see. Pretty soon you'll see tons of "kids" with FB's pouring all there parents money into them.....LOL. Way to go scc and super street....

That would suck. I would have nothing to live for.

Everyone has to wait to get on the band wagon until I get my parts. I don't want to pay anymore than I already do!:gotrice:

Ive been thinking this for a while now...Im more afraid of it coming true now than ever though.

I don't care either way, as long as prices don't go up.......which they will:(

Chemical 10-17-03 05:18 AM

No way, theres always that whole 'omg its a rotary its unreliable i dont want my car blowing up blah blah blahhhhhhh' thing...that will keep the newbs away from our precious cars :)

I believe the anime "Initial D" is more to blame for that.

Rutnick 10-17-03 08:17 AM

I must be getting OLD because drifting seems like a waste to me.

Sterling 10-17-03 10:34 AM

I've thought this ever since the Rx-8 was a "rumour uncertain". !

So true

Either way, our cars are becoming valuable as it is. Look at the SA right now. They go for 6000-7000 dollars on a regular basis for one in good condition. A good condition FB with a 12A will go for 3000 dollars or more. A GSL-SE will go for 4000 dollars. All first gens up to 83 are already classics. In 3 years, ALL first gens will be classics worth a lot of money because they are highly desired by collectors that want the first RX-7's.

Cody 10-17-03 11:04 AM

and then I can make even more money with my Rx7 parts on Ebay!

j9fd3s 10-17-03 01:04 PM

the drifting thing has affected the fc, the 89t2's go for a lot now but nobody drifts a first gen

RRTEC 10-17-03 02:11 PM

Even though i think drifting is kinda dumb. and a waste of tires The FB is a PERFECT car to do it in. Solid rear axle, the rear is really tossable and predictable consistant runs would be child's play! just my $0.02.

Screw trendy fads! I just hope i don't see another rx-7 like I saw at Nopi Nats last year! It was an 83 gs with a HUGE ricer spoiler, cheap APC muffler bolted at a downward angle, and Fast and furious "flying guy" decals on the sides over the sock BABY blue paint..uhh gross!
