fb & 12A question

aight.. first off.. hello everyone.... ok

i think i found an FB for super cheap. but it's been sitting, so more than likely it's gonna need a rebuild. my question is this. is it worth it to rebuild the 12A or should i just rebuild a 13B and swap it out.. and how difficult is this swap? ( i would want to convert the 13b to a carb setup). i'm on a VERY limited budget. i've been interrested in FC's for a while.. but i stumbled upon this FB and i think i can get it uber cheap ( like $200..... and it's complete :D )

thanks

Check the threads at the top of the main 1stgen page and also get the Mazdatrix catalog...all the answers await you there....expense is inversely proportional to your junkyard and general mechanical skills...

The value of having a 12A or 13B is also up to you. Are you looking to drive a 1st Gen RX-7, or are you looking for make a performance car to drive? Many people begin there performance upgrades by using the slightly more powerful 13B, or 13B turbo.

.. and how difficult is this swap?
The degree of difficulty of an engine swap is also relevent to you mechanical skills.

True, so very true !! This comes up so often I think Im gonna write up something in notepad format, and everytime someone asks Im gonna have it right there, and say heres what you need etc etc

Oh and why im thinking about it, if its been sitting quite some time, expect a really nasty rusty gas tank too :(

ok.. mechanical skills arent a problem.. i have a buddy who swaps 13b's outta fc's all day.. takes him about 2 hours.... so between me.. myself.. and my mechanic uncle.. mechanical skills arent an issue...
i suppose i should say.. what are the simularities/ differences in the 12a and 13b?.. and what will interchange between the two.. and what will i need to get..( ie tranny.. motor mounts ect ect...)
also i;m looking for a reliable daily driver that can still BURN RICE on the weekends

thanks
