Fan Wars A Bloody Stalemate. eWater Pump, anyone ?

Does anybody have an electric water pump ? Meziere or other ? Opinions ? Buttmeter readings ? Dyno ? ( I wish )

I'm somewhat interested.

where can I find electric water?

sorry. I would be conceerned about reliabiliy and flow.

DAVID GRIMES 11-29-04 11:25 PM

:tear: What if the flow met your needs, and you had a gauge to show it was working, and it gave you some more horsies to play with ? Would ya like it then, huh , would you ? :bigthumb:

Here is a link to a thread on the Australian forum discussing electric water pumps.

I still can't believe the "Fan Wars" are a stalemate. It takes a special combination of ignorance and foolishness to belive that a mechanical fan is better.

QuagmireMan 11-30-04 07:52 AM

i remember seeing one awhile back at jegs wibesite i think.

I would do it.

Richard Miller 11-30-04 08:23 AM

how would you mate an electric pump to our front housings?

Whizbang 11-30-04 08:28 AM

summit sells a kit for that.

You don't attach it that way. It mounts on a bracket and in/out gets plumbed in-line.

I agree with you 100%. I guess by stalemate I mean I don't think many or any of those that were against it were enlightened enough to change their minds ( or lack thereof ) :D

A thread I found from a GT racer:
"I was running a electric water pump for 4 years, (gt5)allowed under the rules as was at last one othe compeditor I know of. last year with out warning the comp board added the words " engine driven" to the water pump description. I was forced to miss 2 races and completly rebuild the front of my car, move the steering rack, reset up front bump steer, change engine position, move trani mounts and drive shaft. find water pumps, re-make front pullies and new belts.I complained and phoned SCCA but they just dont care. The new setup is hard to fill and the engine runs 20 degrees hotter, so I was not a happy racer. but thats SCCA for you. to bad we cant get the rules so its ok to have a accesory pump, this would allow cooling the eng when hot, allow for better temp control while racing and easyer fill ups. Bob tarzwell"

FYI

Remember: We've met the enemy and it is HEAT !

That is why I could never race under SCCA.
