Fan shroud

Is it nescessary to have a fan shroud if im running a clutch fan?........I plan on going w/ an electric fan soon......What is a good car to go snatch one off of?.....Im going for low budget.........Thanks

I would say that the shroud helps the car stay cool some-what. as far as E-fans, try the bone yards, many types of cars have electric fans,I don't think there is a way to see how much CFM's the fan will do,I would say,
the largest diameter,as many fan blades as posible, and as flat as posible too. Some push, and some pull air.

im not sure about street driving, but with road racing... that fan helps cool the engine until about 30 mph, after that it does jack shit on the track.

The shroud ensures a constant vacuum of air is pulled over the entire length of the shroud. If you havee the room - keep it. It will prevent Radiator "hot spots".
