Experience with racing Beat's Adjustable lower control arms?
 

While surfing RB's site last week I stumbled across their adjustable lower control arms. To those of you who are using these did they come with new lower ball joints? Do they hold their setting well or do they slip? Do you do any road race or auto-x and if so what tires are you using?

I've been interested in these as well and would love to hear some firsthand experiences.

i'm using them right now in my car....they do come with new lower ball joints. and they do NOT stay tight, and are a pain to tighten up. the two bolts on the sides are not easy to get to with a wrench. so right now i have to check them after every autox or two to make sure they stay tight. so if you get them, make sure you check them regularly!!!

Thats a shame, though I suspected as much.

I was looking into maybe relocating the attachment point for the control arm outward slightly, to maximize negative camber, which can then be corrected with a camber plate back to street settings.

Has anyone done this?

theres no way to put anything like locktite on the threads or anything like that?

i'm either running hoosier A3S04's or the kumho V700.

ever thought of drilling a hole in the nuts and the bolts and putting safety wire on them? Or you could tighten them up, and drill a hole through the nut while tight and put a cotter pin through them. They won't move then.

that would work but...there is next to no room to get to the top bolt and nut on each control arm with them installed on the car. i put a dab of locktite on mine and they still came loose, it just took longer to happen. then again my car is very rigid with my suspension setup. so i don't know if everyone else would have this problem as well. they are nice to have though, they just require checking them on a regular basis which is not a big deal for me. i have a list of things i go through and check after every race or two anyways.

Do you think it's better to get the GC adjustable camber plate?

how bout locking nuts? and maybe those washers that kind of dig into things? theres gotta be a way to keep em on there...

If this is a common problem with these, then I wonder why they don't use nylock nuts or something....
