Ever seen your trailing plughole?

I peeked into the spark plug holes with a bore scope. Not the best bore scope, not great on close up, hence the fuzz. Anyway, take a look at your trailing plug hole. I never realized it is capped off. Neat. Something new everyday.

The trailing hole is smaller than the leading. Just look at the pics for some housings to see
the other side. LOL!

Some people need borescopes to see their plugholes.

Others have rebuilt their own engines.

Take off your exhaust. Then you can see even more.

Or do what DD said and tear the engine down. :D

We all have to start somewhere. The curiosity that leads to engine building may just start by looking down a plug hole!!!

just sayin :>)

"I can get a good look at a rotary engine by sticking my head up a plughole - but I'd rather take an engine rebuilder's word for it!" - Tommy Boy.

An interesting fact is that the trailing is partly covered to avoid blowing out the spark from the leading having already fired. Trailing is there to catch the last part of the unburned A/F mix, and is also why your engine will run acceptably well without Trailing ignition, but not well (if at all) without Leading ignition.

Cool pic, OP.

I'm getting the idea that not too much worries you guys when it comes to rotaries.

:)

To satisfy your curiosity....

Nope, I figure the engine's gonna kick it sooner or later. So drive like the devils chasing you while you got the chance. :D
