Ethanol in older Wankel.
Anybody know the result of burning ethanol in an older rx7 ? George....

you need to make sure your fuel pump and lines won't be corroded by the ethanol. Then you have to tune your carb to give you ~1/3 more fuel, and you should be good to go.

I bought my 80 new. A few years later they came out with ethanol. This was in Iowa by the way, where ethanol came from. It is hard to find a gas station without ethanol in Iowa. Gotta support those corn farmers you know!
My car ran like crap on ethanol. So, I have avoided ever since. You may have different results though. Mine would stall on me when you came to a stop. Once I quit using ethanol, it quit. |
FYI,
It takes 1.1 gallon of gasoline to produce 1 gallon of ethanol. Think about that everytime you fill up and think you are helping the environment. |

That being said, it IS better for the environment, despite the slight increase in energy requirements for production because the corn removes CO2 while it grows, which offsets the amount of CO2 that is eventually put into the atmosphere. |

If you want to make the most out of ethanol, just run a large amount of boost. :)
