Engine Bay Hoses

I've had the main hoses in my SA cut off and I'm not really sure which hoses they are, so I can't buy a new set. So could someone give me a list required with a 79' Radiator and 91' Oil Cooler set up, maybe even the part numbers. Thanks

I have all the hosing found except for one...

Its on the passenger side of the engine bay and is connected to a metal piping (which is connected to the back of the bay). The hose is braided and is very close to the radiator area. Help would be great. Thanks

If you are refering to the heater hose hose that goes from the bottom of the radiator to the hardline running along the frame rail, a straight piece of hose will work.

I don't know of any braided hoses in the stock engine bay.

And I'm not very familiar with '79s (mine's an '84)

But all the stock coolant hoses should be able to be found on www.mazdatrix.com

and for the oil cooler, it has two hoses that will probably need to be made to a specific length by a local hydraulics shop (if you have the ends of yours). Since the '91 oil cooler doesn't originally mount into the '79 there's no "specific" hoses for it (for example a '91 oil cooler can be mounted in front of the rad, or under it. If you mount it in front, you could mount it to the big round bar, or attach it to the inside of the rad, so it's impossible to know for sure).

If you could grab a pic of the braided hose you're tlaking about, I could probably point you in the right direction.

The oem hoses from the factory had a braided covering on them. I have run across a few. If that is still the original factory hose, it has to be some kind of a record. I don't know if the early dealer replacement hoses had the same braided covering or not.

The braided covering did a good job of protecting the hoses from heat in the engine bay, they also did a good job of holding spilt oil on the ones under the filter.

Right now I'm buying a couple of things from Mazdatrix and wanted to know which hose that is so I can order it with everything else. Thanks

Its the heater hose(s): here are the Mazdatrix part numbers
GET ALL THREE!! the longer one that runs from the heater/firewall to under the oil filter is really prone to bursting due to oil spillage damage from the filter! Translation: kiss rotor-motor g'bye!
?Hose, eng.-to-firew 61-2300-8871

?Hose, htr-to-pipe 61-212A-FA54

?Hose, pipe-to-rad 61-2130-8871

Also this is a really good time to pull your rad and get it chem-dunked at a good rad shop. Remember, healthy cooling system is EVERYthing to long rotary life.
