Electric choke???????
did any 1st gen 12a's have electric chokes? The reason I ask is because on ebay there is an acution for an "electric choke switch" I attached the link. Is this some rare option, or what? TIA

I believe the seller means the mechanical choke cable position is controlled by an electrical, magnetic switch.
Basiclly it's a manual pull-cable with a magnetic switch that holds it out when the water temp is below a certain point. The water temp sensor for the magnetic choke switch is located at the front of the engine near the altenator. |
ditto,
I have always called the choke mechanism on the first gens a "semi-manual" choke. You have the auto release mechanism like a electric choke, but the adjustability of a manual. And as far as I know they were on ALL first gens with the exception, of course, of the GSL-SE's hanman |
OK, that's what I thought, thanks guys! :)
