Dual 36MM Carbs in a 12A Bridge Port??

Does anyone has a n Idea of how a dual carb (Weber 36MM) will work in a 12A Bridge Port engine????

I have a firend that has this carbs is his garage and he is goig to sell them so I want to try them in my car but I don`t know exactly if they will work well.

They were in a 13B Bridge Port but they have not being in a car for at least one year....

Can someone help me with this????

I'd go for it. If they are the 36 DCD dual carb setup that Rotary Engineering sold back in the day, that is a good carb setup. Makes very good torque and HP.

Well from what I've read those carbs only flow enough for a mild street port. So I'd figure they're not going to flow enough for a bridge. people running mild streetports with dual 40 DCOE's run 36mm chokes and that just cuts it. So my recomendation is that dual 36mm carbs are prolly going to be running 32 or at the most 34 mm chokes and they're barley going to be enough for a streetport...

Yeap. They have a aluminum manifold from Rotary engineering. They were in a 13B Bridge port..

Do you think they will make more HP and torque than the Weber 45 DCOE that I have right now???

I have trouble getting to 8,000RPM with this carb...

For the race with the mustangs we are 3 for 3... Trouble with carb.....

Since there is no low end, run the carb without any venturies and play with the jets. that will give you a "TRUE" dual 36.

IMHO four 36mm chokes is pleanty for a mild SP, that kit was originally sold with 30 or 32mm chokes.

For the dual downdrafts, they came with 25mm chokes in primarys, 32mm in secondarys. I would definately increase those sizes, mabye start with 28mm and 34mm for a nice progression.

Or do what wacky does and just remove the chokes?

For reference:

application is a stock 12A

1st number is for the Primary and the 2nd, Secondary

Venturi 25mm / 32mm
Main Jet 135 / 135
Air Correctors 260 / none used
Emulsion tube F23 / F23

Rally/Street port 12a:

Venturi: 25mm / 32mm
Main Jet: 140 / 140
Air Correct: 260 / none used
Emul. Tube: F23 / F23

Not sure what fuel pressure to run, but can say weber dcoe and dellorto dhla only need 1.75 to 2.50psi. I run 2.25 on both my dellortos and have not run out of fuel yet.

The problem is that I live in Guatemala, Central America so I think it is going to be more easy to get one in the US or Canada. :bigthumb:
