Drop link brackets
 

Do I need traction / drop link brackets? I just installed some aftermarket 5in springs, and replaced all the rear links. The springs dropped the rear about an inch. I just wanted to match my front, which has old rb springs with a coil cut. Not looking to go any lower. However it looks like my lower link is just beyond the horizontal.

Basically at what point does this become a problem?

Will take it for a test spin tomorrow and see if it settles.

No one has suspension advice for me? Swear I read something about the lower rear links not being level causing issues...

Took it fo a drive and the rear end feels much more planted with stiffer springs and aftermarket shocks. Was definitely “wallowy” on the stock rear end with 30 year old rubber. It used to take a few seconds to settle in the curves, and now it loads up much quicker. Will push it a little more on my next drive. I think I could go stiffer all around on the spring rates next time...

T3 has bolt on brackets for the rear end. They relocate the lower links and the shock mount, to correct the lower link geometry and restore shock stroke after lowering.

That's all I know.

the drop link setup is mostly to mount a coilover style setup to the axle... gives you more shock travel and allows the coil over shock to fit in place... probably dont need them if you are just running stock style shocks... but looking at my pic I suppose it also serves to lower the lower arm

I guess lowering the rear link is how you get more travel. I've only hit the bump stop once since I put the new springs in, so I guess I'm good.
