Driver Training

Ok, so I know there is like a driver section on this board, but I though I would post this here as our 1st gens can develop "unique" handling characteristics. How have folks on this board learned to drive? I think that if I got into an understeer in my car I would not have enough practice / knowhow to pull it out. Are there schools in my area (Kansas), or is it just seat time on the local Auto-x course?

Go here, it's in Topeka. http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks...tlandPark.html

They have track days, HPDE and autocross. Hit the tab for school.

A person's natural tendency, when losing control of their car, is to apply the brakes. That's understeer control made simple. :)

Autocrossing is a great way to learn car control.

Thanks Trochoid for the link. I'm feeling kind of stupid for not searching myself.

Change is in the air. I like it.

AutoX is an excellent way to learn. The cost is usually like 20 bucks... Just make sure that your battery is fastened down, and you're not leaking any fluids, then show up at the event. Check www.myautoevents.com for races in your area.
