driver side rear end tilt
i have a problem with the rear of my suspension. i have recently changed out my entire suspension (shocks, springs, bushings) and the rear of my car is tilted on the driver side. when looking at the car from the back, i can see a definite tilt. its probably more prominent with me in it. i checked the wheel gap differences. the passenger side i can fit 2 fingers (1.5 inches) while the drivers side can only get one. i searched the archives and it seems that the front driver side sag is most common. any advise on this issue would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

you have to buy a shim from mazdatrix. this will go between the strut mount and the strut tower of which ever side is lower. here are the pix along with the header that I'm selling. its the dual with no rear flange.

I'd say you need to loosen your control arms in the rear (I also loosened the watts) and let it settle on it's own weight and tighten again. I did this using 2 jack stands placed on each side of the back axle right by the shock mounts since it was easier to get to all the bolts with the wheels off.

He's talking about the rear suspension, otherwise those shims might work :)
Make sure that you don't have an old shock bushing stuck up inside the wheel well, happened to me. They get stuck up there, then you have a 1" bushing in there messing things up. Also, make certain that all final tightening is performed with the weight on the suspension, otherwise very strange things can happen. Good luck. :) . |
hm... when i tightened the rear suspension i had it on a lift but i had a jack under the rear end and it was compressed. i will go back and try it again this weekend. i'll let you guys know what happens. thanks so much for the advise.
