Drilling new bolt patern on rotors?
 

I nead new brake rotors on my 83 I was just wondering if anybody has taken them and drilled 4 new holes for wheel studs (4x100) press the new studs through the new holes and presto new bolt pattern

I've never heared of anyone doing it. Good luck.

take them to a machine shop, have them tig in the current bolt holes, then lathe it down, and redrill.

You might as well have them drill the wheels to the proper pattern. Its probably going to cost just as much, and you can still use stock rotors when you need to replace them rather than add cost each time.

Overhere good wheelshops get some wheels (the more expensive ones I guess ;) ) in as blanks, and they drill them to customer specs. So I guess they could do the rotors too. Mine are done by a machine shop, but by the previous owner.
