Water is cheating, lol. Keep at it, you'll get better.

fcdrifter13 07-29-06 03:20 AM

Ya pretty good for your first time. Work on your throttle control a lil bit and you'll be gold. What I do (when I was learning) is mash the gas to get it spinning, let of and roll back on, gabbing the gas like you are doing accually makes it harder to control....well for me it did.

bliffle 07-29-06 10:00 AM

Looks more like skidding than drifting. The idea of drifting is to add centripetal force in corners by aligning the car axis more with the turn radius to get a projection of force, thereby allowing a higher speed thru the turn. The idea is to take a turn quicker, not noisier.

camocarl 07-29-06 10:11 AM

I just don't see the point :jerkit:

no_name 07-29-06 10:16 AM

Intresting. I did not know that bliffle.

On another note great first time Rusty. What kind of mods do you have done to your car?

lol pointers are diferent than opinions:)

i think you should try it on a track and kida do what biffle says
with a track you can visulize the drift better for entering a corner than cones

ps..
not bad for a first time cant wait till i give it a go

Rogue_Wulff 07-29-06 02:35 PM

There's nothing wrong with drifting, as long as it is done in a closed course environment. Same goes for drag racing, and road racing.
Drag and drift are not my choices to participate in, but I don't mind watching. Road racing, on the other hand, I prefer to watch thru the windsheild and mirrors.......
Like any skill, you have to start somewhere, and you will not be the best at it, until you have had plenty of practice. It takes time to learn the car control and finesse required to perform such manuvers. The downside to the learning cycle, you usually end up damaging the vehicle at some point......

Rusty Shackleford 07-29-06 02:42 PM

the only things i have done are emissions removed,,,a/c removed,,,RB intake,,full RB exhaust,,and RB springs in the rear,,and some diamond racing wheels on the front with 205-50/15 Falken 512's

i have some RB front springs i need to put on but im waiting to get shocks first to save some money and time when i put them on together

hey thats not my fault that on a 2 hour drive to the track it started raining so hard that i had to go 30mph just to see which also didnt help since i had a crappy uhaul trailer with my 7 on the back...

i like how my friend in the entire video i have here of like 20min he only took one clip of the guys drag racing and during the clip called them "ricers" haha

and when it goes slow-mo that was me trying to clutch kick it and whipped it around and came about 3" away from the cone so my friend reached out and patted it on the head

DriftFB 07-29-06 05:43 PM

Looks good, exspecially for a first time.

Tell the guy in the 240sx to get a diff.

cdrad51 07-29-06 09:58 PM

I hate drifting. In my opinion, drifting only wears out a car's suspension and traction systems.

There I said it. Sue me. :D

-xlr8planet- 07-29-06 10:04 PM

I dont have the needed skills....

Your looks good :D

Driftlanta 07-29-06 10:10 PM

Keep At It.

Also i would like a explanation on how it wears out the "suspension and traction system"
Fools

no_name 07-30-06 12:17 PM

Sweet man. You give me hope. What kind of power are you putting out with only an RB exhaust, and intake? Are you still running a stock Nikki?

I am doing an RB suspention set up soon ( waiting on parts), and I alredy installed the RB header lol.

Intense_7 07-30-06 12:20 PM

Wow this forum really is full of opinionative morons hey.

*start scarcasm*

OOOH a thread on drifting, lets go in and hang shit on the people who drift.
This will give me a huge internet ego and people will respect me and shit

*end scarcasm*

For all you people hanging shit on this guy, you're a bunch of immature retards with the mental capacity of a 5 year old.

Don't worry about all these tossers here mate, i reckon you did an excelent job. Just keep at it and you'll get better. It's rare to find videos of first gens drifting so the more the merrier.

Yourmomsbox 07-30-06 12:43 PM

ive heard of this stuff gion on at the speed way up there in myrtle beach... i'm in charleston too.. when are they doin it again? I wanna go up and try it out.. would be cool to caravan up with a couple other 1st gen owners.

wrigh003 07-30-06 01:45 PM

Looks like fun, glad to see that you're not out assing about in the mall parking lot, anyway. Nice to see a video of what type of sound I can expect out of the RB exhaust that I have coming in the big brown truck, too (Hint: way nicer than a stock exhaust manifold with nothing after it...).

:D

Tsk tsk tsk no name calling please. Since your IQ probably matches your posts number, let me break it down for you. I couldn't care less if somebody drifts or not. As far as I'm concerned, people can drift up ramps and into the ocean and I wouldn't give a rat's ass about that. But it is always amusing, when one is bored and browsing the forum, to drop an obviously sarcastic post doing exactly what the thread starter is asking you not to do, and watch the reaction of the oligophrenic, who can't discern the obvious. Like yours, mate.

Clue: look at the smilies in people's posts. They're called emoticons for a reason :D

Intense_7 07-30-06 09:31 PM

It's just pointless shit stiring.
But if reactions like mine are what gets you off, then you really need to find more to do with your life

cdrad51 07-30-06 10:13 PM

Oh you mean more to do with my life, like you, engaging in useless arguments on the net? :rlaugh:

 Yeah sure whatever mate.

680RWHP12A 07-30-06 10:17 PM

good for a first timer, tell the 240 guy to get a lsd, lol... oh and great thread title, i had to look

Jozay721 07-30-06 11:08 PM
