doing clutch this week...

I'm throwing in a Racing Beat multi-puck clutch this week... everything looks fairly straightforward... anything I need to watch out for?

have lots of patience in removing the old pilot bearing. thats if you dont have a pilot bearing puller. i have good luck with snap on...all others are junks imho.

i was just wondering, i might be looking into buying a non running first gen just to use the engine core, but the thing is, it's an auto, and i was browsing around the atkins website and saw that they had a rebuild kit for the 12a, and nex to it said "M/T"
this confused me, because i'm guessing that it stands for Manual Transmission, but if i wanted to say swamp my auto into a manual, couldnt i just buy the transmission and replace the flywheel?

*i know that there's more involved than just that, but that's the only part that i'm concerned about right now

or maybe the M/T stands for something else? if anybody could help me out there, i'd be very thankful

can i get a discount for a new one? Im tired of borrowing and using die grinder if the puller is not available.

How many miles on the flywheel, should need to be resurfaced if it has lots of heat checking.

The pilot bearing is tricky while the engine is in the car, but can be done.

Make sure you don't misplace your clutch alinment tool.

Taking the slave cylinder off the transmission can be hard to get to the bolts, recommend a wobble socket for that.

Only 65K on the car... No slipping whatsoever right now, but since I'm fairly sure it's the original, I figured I'd be safe doing it right now...

Ha ha, I am out of the past...

Mickey Thompson was the "T" in TRW.

I have a t-shirt that was autographed by Don Garlits. :)

What are you even talking about, the posting is about throwing in a Racing Beat multi-puck clutch this week....

Why do some of you have to comment on everything, which really adds no value to the topic. Maybe you should spend less time here and more time in the chat rooms.

Pilot bearing is a bitch,If it looks OK (not rusty and dusty) you might want It leave it alone. Anti seize the needle bearings. If it does'nt look OK I have a small slide hammer with a expandable end on it that works really well.See if you can beg, borrow, or steal one. Use some PB blaster "Best nut buster In the Whole Fucking world Thank You" there is a stud on the top of the engine that can make installation a pain Do what you want with that I've seen a few cars with it removed. Good Luck

My mistake. I mixed up two posts.
Maybe you should lighten up a little, chief.
