Denso Plugs, Where to get them and what PN.
 

I Can not find where to buy Denso plugs or the PN for the plugs for a 79.

Help please.

auto zone has them i dunno the part number tho, I got them once car ran like shit.

Is your ignition manual (OEM) or electronic (a common upgrade)? You require different plugs with a smaller gap (.025-.030) with the old manual distributor points system, than with later electronic (0.060) system. I found the narrow gap plugs for my REPU at sparkplugs.com with 3 day delivery.

Sparkplugs are controversial, and most folks recommend NGKs. But right now I have Autolite 2626s with annular electrodes in two of my rotaries and they're fine. Cheaper, too. But I measured the thread length carefully to make sure they wouldn't clip the apex seals.

May I ask why you are looking for denso's?

I have a car that likes to flood and they helped it a lot. When I changed them to NGK it got hard to start again, So I want to put a new set of Denso's in. Just dont have them with me so I dont know what to get.

For those that don't know, the Densos were the oem plugs installed from the factory. The Owner's Manual list the Densos and NGKs as replacements.

The problem with some of the older Densos is you need a thin wall spark plug socket because of the configuration of the hex of the socket.

I use denso plugs every time, never a problem, however I do replace them very often as a matter of caution.

how often should you replace your plugs?

like every 12-15k miles.
i change mine every couple years.

The MSD direct fire setup on my old Yaw carbed N/A engines, used to eat NGKs up like mad.I was replacing leadings every oil change due to broken ceramic and worn center electrodes.I switched to the Denso W25EDR14's and the plug life more than tripled!!

I also had a hard time finding the ND plugs.Turned out the local Toyota dealer was the place to go.Pretty much no one else had a clue when I gave them the part number and descibed them as being multiple electrode.....'course that was 6-7 years ago.
