ive been having troubles with my carb lately as well. the psi for that carb should be in the 4-5psi range, so your pump should be good. whats the engine setup your running? what jets are in the carb? what size is it (im guessing something like 45mm maybe 47? dunno the sizes of the Dellorto) can you give any more detailed symptoms? sounds, the feel when it bogs/ cuts out, what rpm your running and how hard are you in the throttle. im no carb expert by any chance but have worked on cars long enough to maybe be of some help.
ps. sometimes people get rushed and dont look at the simple stuff first, did you check for vacuum leaks and other small problems that are noticable from outside of the carb? if thats all checking out ok, then its maybe time to dive into the inner workings of the thing. has the carb been used on a previous car? if so did it run ok? i see you said its rebuilt, so maybe something wanst installed correctly, or some dirt got broken loose into a transition hole or jet... *shrugs* just throwing out possibilities |
go here there is a trouble shooting guide at the bottom of the page . im sure that some of the guys that have had dell's for some time now will chime in if you rebuilt it your self did you make sure that everything went back properly.

Do you have a header or stock exhaust ?
Did you rebuild it ? Where did you get the kit ? Most folks run 2-4 psi for the Dells, anything more will cause flooding. What gear/rpm are you at when you say it "lags out". I've had a Dell on my 12a for 15 years and its great. Give us more real info and we can probably help you out with real answers. Its a great carb setup but its not always easy to tune. I'm assuming this is the RB modified Dell with the RB intake. If not you could have a lot more work to do. Look at the gruntled site, it really has a lot of good info. |
stock manifold but saving to get the exhast no cat. on the exhast i did rebuilt it my uncle had the carb. before me and he had it on a 82 rx7 and ran good right nw i am trying to get a hold of him the rpms is at about 4.5 to 5.5 rpms in thrid gear just a while ago i found out its nt the fuel but i have been trying to tune it right have looked at the basics. tks the site is helping

It Doesn't Matter What Your Pump Pressure Is You Still Need To Run A Regulator At 4-5 Psi
|
Stock exhaust manifold is very restrictive, its not going to be able to breath good enough at the higher rpms.
So if your fuel pressure is good, you have to make sure its not too high, thats why you need an fpr. The Dell is real picky about the fuel pressure. Too much and it will run rich and bog on you. |
yea i think i got it fix i got a hold of my uncle nw i am running rice right nw and then my oil lines were to big got the oil lines changed nw the fpr should go on today to see what happens

I use 2.25psi of fuel pressure on both dellortos I own. Both dyno's said I don't need any more. Never ran out of fuel yet. Holley Red 14psi pump (loud).
