DCOE Sidedraft Weber questions....

Well.
I am currently building a streetported (mild) 13b S4 N/A motor for my 84 "s" model. I am planning on using a custom intake manifold I had laying around that used DCOE carb patterns (I.E. anything in the DCOE pattern will bolt to it). I wanted to get some feedback and input from anyone currently running a 13b S4N/A with a mild streetport AND a DCOE 48 Weber Sidedraft carb. I am premixing so I have no need for oil injection.

My main concerns for this setup are:
Cornering characteristics with the DCOE 48
48mm DCOE able to supply a street ported 13b (88 S/4)
Possible plans in the future to run rotrex supercharger
Any weird characteristics discovered about this setup?

I am planning on this car just being a "spirited driver" but not a daily or race car. I personally don't care too much about the MPG of this setup as I said before, I won't be using as a daily driver.

My exhaust setup is pretty odd too just in case that should be in consideration. I am using a custom Downpipe, factory connecting pipe, and a 2002 Scion TC resonator as my "muffler". Yep, I do indeed like to seriously anger my neighbors. Screw them they always call the city on me for not RAKING THE LEAVES>!! OMFG?! Who does that?! Really? It's LEAVES PEOPLE!!! LEAVES!!!

Back to the car, I was also thinking of possibly making an airbox for the carb with a scoop on the hood to force cooler air into the airbox.

Anyone tried this either?

Any and all comments and help/suggestions welcome!

Thanks!

(Oh, and if you have been following my door panels, I had to put them on hold my shop got an R&D job for some armor panels for the gov., update to follow on those when this R&D project is complete and I can focus on them again.)

yes including blow-thru turbo but not 100% sure on rotrex supercharger

I run a Dell 48 DHLA, very similiar carb. I've been thinking about a cold air box
using the ReSpeed radiator support for the filter placement. Very interested to
see what you come up with.

I think the DCOE will have no problem with the ported 13B. its just a matter of
choke size and jetting. Not sure about the DCOE cornering issues. The Dell
has issues with sharp right turns at times but float bowl adjustment cures
most of it.

I'm also interested in the Rotrex supercharger, seems like a better way to SC a
rotary than the usual rootes type SC.

48 dcoe sounds good. the wrap around intake is on the long side so it'll make power in the mid range, but that actually should be really good. i would experiment with actually running the 6 ports, very good chance you'll end up with something that feels like stock but faster

you should really be looking for a header too..

all good points... if you're thinking about running boost any time in the future, do yourself a huge favor and go ahead and ship your carb to Robert at Rotary shack for boost prepping... for $100 you'll be ready to go blow-through whenever the mood strikes you.
