Damn Vibration/noise problem

Ok, so I had my bridgeport out to replace some carbon apex seals and springs and put it back in and get my break-in miles in, keeping it under 4000rpm(difficult to do).

Anyway, when I take it up, I rev it up through 8000rpm in 1st it sounds mildly like rotary detonation with fan noise and vibration through the clutch pedal and the shifter, but the timing is correctt and the fan clutch is working fine. I even took off the fan to varify this and it was still making the noise/vibration above 4000rpm.

I have replaced the pilot bearing in the past(70,000miles on the e-shaft since) and the clutch release bearing has about the same amount of time on it but it vibrates with or without it engaged. I'm sure its possible that the pilot bearing is bad. But I forget the exact syptoms again. Enlighten me?

I am certain the front engine thrust bearing are on correctly and haven't fallen off the shaft since I tightened it with the engine pointed up so its not related to my reassembly job.

I haven't yet checked the gear lube in the tranny since I know you can get noise there if its low, but doubt its low since it hasn't leaked on the ground. Also the tranny rubber mount, how much does that effect vibration if its saggy or broken with higher/lower rpm and compared to moving and stationary, because the problem is that the clutch pedal and shifter both have more vibration then normal.

Any input constructive would be appreciated
