I dont know where you are buying your system.. but, i find it hard to believe you are actually going to stick 2,600 into an rx-7 system. I have 4 8" Rockfords mounted flush into my spare tire well, with a rockford 360.a2 bridged. And i have PLENTY of bass... i also have 2 6' Alpine type R's in the back, and some boston acoustis in the front. My deck is also a rockford. My total was 1,200.00. I dont think you need to spend more than 800.00 for a good system. But anyways, good luck on your system...

2600 isnt that bad if you have some nice head equipment and amps...
I got about 1200 in my dash alone... I got a DEHP990 and a DEQ9200 |
I had about 1100 to 1200 in my whole system, but I blew one of my 12's so I traded off the other good 12, amp and box for my leather seats.

When I bought my deck (Pioneer Dehp6300) It cost me almost $400 for it. It was new technoligy whgen I bought it though. plus the JL 6x9's for $220.
I can see putting a very high end system and spending $2600 easy!! |
It's easy to spend $2600. It's easy to spend $10,000. I think the point is noone is really impressed, and I can't think of any other reason to add that to the end of a three sentence post.
And with some work, a sub-$1000 system can be made to sound much better than a $10,000 system. Been there. |
Yea, 2600 really isn't *that* much, its easy to spend that much on a system. If I had purchased all my stuff new my system would over $2000, but I got all of it used, much of it from a friend's dad who had upgraded (hes got over $5k into his maxima's system) I know to a lot of you it seems foolish to spend more on a stereo than you did on teh car itself, which it probably is, but still its his choice.

I paid < $600 for my Sony MP70 deck, and <$400 for my Infinity speakers (all prices $CAN, not $USD) Total installed came to a whisker over $1,000 tax incl. and sounds great in MP3 or CD mode - I've not subscribed to XMradio yet but AM/FM is fine.

With a $2600 stereo system in my car, I'd be sure to have a guard watching it at all times.

i wasnt stating that its hard to spend tht much money, i used to have a 1,000.00 amp, 450.00 deck, 300.00 15" sub, 275.00 custom box, 400.00 4 channel amp, and 450.00 infinity's front and rear... I just dont think a 2,600.00 system is needed in a little car like this......
