cruise control blues
 
so i have a gsl se as u all know by know but i want to take it on a road trip this weekend and the cruise doesn't work... the electronic cruise box behind the drivers seat is good(checked with meter) and the switch is good(checked with meter) the light comes on for the main button but the set wont work. I am positive the fuse is good...any incite thanks a million

check the cruise control motor on the drivers side wheelwell by the fire wall. other than that idk. good luck

Isn't it on the passenger side. Atleast it is with the non SE models. I dont think anyones even works anymore except a few. Ray greens probably does...lol

My 84 GSL's cruise control box was behind the drivers seat, til I took it out and put it in the wrong bag. Anyone have an extra?

Check your vacuum connection/source to the unit under the hood, also I think there are switches at the clutch and brake pedals that if not adjusted properly may disable it.
On my truck, there is a vacuum hose to to the brake pedal switch.

Both my 85GSL and the 85SE work perfectly. I find them very useful even on short drives down the freeway. But I've never had a problem and I've never debugged one. I dread the day...

I hope this thread produces something for the archive, for that unhappy day when I have to fix one.
