Connections on back of cubby in a '79
I pulled out the little cubby in my center console under the radio and heater controls a while back. Connected to the back of it was a harness with some wires. I am wondering what the connector is for and if it is anything important. It is just a piece of metal on the back of the cubby that connects all of the wires. I don't see a purpose for it, but just wanted to check to make sure.

its the equalizer bypass wires for the radio.. the models that had the eq instead of the cubby hole thingy had the plug go right into the eq..

Gotcha. Thanks

And it has to be there or your radio won't work. Or you could just connect the proper connections together.

Its the connector for the optional cassette deck that fits there...it ties it in to the radio for audio OUT-

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for which prongs need to be in the wiring harness. I tried plugging the harness back into the back of the cubby, but the radio still didn't work. If anyone has a diagram of how it should be wired, that would be great. Thanks
