Compression Testing & 13b help
Ok,
Firstly, don't hate me, but I'm out to buy a s5. Remember my s3 got stolen, and I finally got the settlement, so now I'm out to buy a FC turbo. I'm looking at an 1990. I'm posting here because you guys all rock anyway..and even when I get an FC I'll still be here! :bigthumb: Anyway, quick question, I did a search but didn't quite find decent answers. How do I go about testing compression of the rotors? what's a good rating? I read like around 80 or above is better or something? My main concern is obviously with a turbo and being 15+ years old the compression could be weak and I don't want it to die straight after I buy it. I mean I'll be very picky with my buy and I already know what to look for, I just need some help for compression. And anyone with a FC / 13b turbo motor to drop hints to what to also look for would be good. |
Bump. Anyone?
I read something about removing the coil/or leading spark and hearing a consistant sound.. |
80 is getting kind of low, asking for a rebuild. Id look for somehting with about 100-115 psi on all faces.
