Coilover install question

I have Respeed street slip on coilovers on the front of my rx. I want to change the coilover sleeves to full 5inch ones, so I can get more adjustability. I know I'll have to grind off the existing spring perch. My question is can I use one of these clamp on shaft collars on the front rather than a weld on perch McMaster-Carr ? I noticed some coilover manufacturers use something similar. If I can use these collars, I could do the install myself. But if it could cause issues, I'll find someone to weld new perches on.

I wouldn't trust those without a good weld bead to supplement.

I have been using these on several 3800# cressidas with 500lb springs for a lot of pothole filled miles.

Item # 2C-200, Two-Piece, Clamping Collar- 2C-Series On Climax Metal Products Company

they are available all over the net for ~$15-20 each. If my cressida with stiff springs doesn't move them in the awesome pothole filled E.Wa roads, then any rx-7 application will be cake.
