clutch sticking to floor help!

It started with just 3rd gear once and them few days later it would be everytime i shifted into 3rd but now everygear my clutch sticks to the floor and i have to put my foot under the peddle and flick it back up so i can get to the next gear. 1st on a hill is becoming very stetchy. I've done a bit of reading and dont know if its the master and slave cylnder or the clutch or...... twice the break light came on but only twice leading me to think it might be the cylnders?? Also my brake peddle slowly starts to travel to the floor and that has been happening for a while. Please help this is my DD. Thanks guys

Brake Pedal to the floor = Leaking brake master cylinder (see to this immediately)

Clutch going to the floor...inspect both cylinders, there should be fluid around one of them. Rebuild/replace the defective one.

Remember, you should change both the master and the slave cylinder together. They are cheap and can be picked up at your local auto parts store.

clutch pedal staying on the floor means there's air in the system mainly due to a leaky slave or master cylinder. when one goes bad the other is usually not far behind so it's a good idea to just go ahead and replace both along with the flex line.

Its been stated already, but this is typical of leaking clutch hydraulics. Best to replace both master and slave. Also keep an eye on the hose - it could be leaking as well.

Time to clean the carpet, maybe?

Just bring it in to Toyota for the floor mat recall!

It's an 84-85 thing. They have a helper spring that helps push to the floor after the clutch is pressed half way in. Bad hydraulics equals pedal right to the floor. '83 and older had a simple pedal return spring that won't do that.
