Hi guys!

so, i drive a SA 1981 and my clutch is broken...

today i've locked on ebay, an there is a complete new clutch kit for ~100$

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...949727309&rd=1

but the guy write that this clutch matches SA's build 03.84 - 03.86 ...

Ahh, I can't read that! From what I could read it looked like it might work. Good luck.

what you can't read? my terrible english? ^^

1stgen4life 01-23-05 01:47 PM

No the ebay link, it's all in german or something. Your english is pretty good, I didn't even realize you weren't from the U.S. until after I went to the link and then I checked your location. Don't worry, someone on this forum will be able to give you a definate yes or no. Good luck.

YES - 1981-1985 SA In the Rest of the world = U.S. Designated FB (81-85)

No, I don't think that it will work. It says it is a 225 mm clutch, while your's is likely 215 mm. In the U.S., at least, the '79-'83 RX-7s used a 215 mm clutch. The RX-7s came with a 225 mm clutch beginning in 1984. It should be the same for Austria. Good luck.

i dont want to spend 100$ for nothing :/

I wouldn't go for it. It is a good buy, but like you said, you don't want to waste money. I was wrong on the transition year, the '83s were the first year of the 225 mm clutch in the US. If that sellers info is correct, then it looks like Europe didn't get the 225 mm until 1984. The 1983 model was kind of a transision model, at least in North America. Some of the '83 features are like the '82 and ealier (like interior) and other features were like the '84-'85 models (flange on rear end, beehive oil cooler, clutch, etc.). Either way, the '81 will not be able to use that clutch.

Maybe try to contact the seller of the clutch to see if they have any available for your car.

Here are the different part numbers from Mazdatrix if it will help ease you mind a bit.
