Clutch -- maybe slave cylinder

I'm getting to the point where i'm tired of the rattling ot other noises coming from my clutch... i have had what i call feed back from my clutch pedele where it pops back at me. strange i know... so i thought that i would just replace it all.. clutch preasure plate throw out bearing polit bearing and what ever else that comes in a clutch kit.

my question is where do i need to get them from ... mazdatrix, i don't seem to be able to loacte them on the website... i could just be a blind ass or soemthing... i have not checked with victoriabritish as of yet as my book is at home. I have found a few web sites. they are posted below:

Autozone

The parts bin

Pro Street

I have 1983. I don't have it street ported and as of yet other than playing around on 285 in Atl i don't feel that i need i high proformance one. some sites i have seem oem for 400+ this doesn't seem right to me. Can anyone recomend a site that i can get the parts from... i would like to replace them and get it done and over with.

Autozone/Advance/O'rielly or whatever you have close at hand. Get a "NEW" clutch kit. Cost is about $125-150 most places, and it comes with all new parts. Usually includes a clutch alignment tool as well.
The stock clutch for 83-88N/A will hold up quite well, even on a moderately modded engine.
New clutch kits should have the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing, and they are all new, not remanufactured. Cost is marginally higher than a reman kit.

Thx for the help. I will get one from napa mainly because i get a discount... but will check out ebay as well..

What about slave cylincer... should i rebuild it or just wait and see if this fixes my problem?

If it's never been done, just go ahead and get it done now while everything's apart...

If it were me, I would rebuild the clutch master and slave, simply to prevent any further problems. The kits for these are not that high, and they are rather simple to rebuild. The slave will have to come off the trans anyway, so you are 1/2 way to removing it. Might as well put new seals in it while it is off.

they are a good thing to go ahead and replace.....mine went out a week from each other err had both new1's but i was like "ahh it still works" the next week i had to pull the master out and replace it...go ahead and do it now

If you buy an auto parts house clutch kit, be prepared to buy a pilot bearing and seal seperately. The last one I bought from O'Riellys had the wrong bearing. The kid behind the counter didn't believe me, so I told him to look up the bearing and go find one. He came back with the correct bearing, said I would have to buy it seperately because the kit had the correct beating in it. Of course they don't have the seal either.

If you think it might be the clutch slave cylinder or master cyclinder, replace those before you start taking the clutch apart. Always do the the cheapest and easiest things first. If you thought your car either needed new spark plug wires or an engine rebuild, which would you try first?

if you think its one of the cylinders, replace both. If one went the other will follow shortly.

www.rockauto.com has the cheapest prices of any auto store.

have fun

Thx for the help everyone forgot about rockauto ... haven't bought any parts lately. I think that i will do the master slave and clutch all at one time... get them all out of the way and be done with it. Thx for the help
