clutch help

greetings,

i am looking for advice as to how best to remove and replace the clutch slave (for an 84 gs). there are a few hoses in the way of getting at the bolts. i'll be happy to hear of a better way but will i run in to problems unhooking the coolant and oil(???) lines and re-attaching them after i put in the slave?

thanks,
norman ng

you shouldnt have any problems getting to that. you can practically see it from the top. your best bet is a 1/4" ratchet and feel your way to it. take your time and be careful not to hit or disconnect anything by accident. good luck.

I used a couple long extensions hooked together on my ratchet to reach through the hoses.

There's a large AC hose in the way on top(if you have AC). You can also remove your oil filter to give you more clearance, but make sure you cover up the mount so debris doesn't fall inside. I found it easier to remove the steel line that goes to the master cylinder, then remove the whole slave cylinder with the flexible hose and the steel line still attached to it. You shouldn't have to remove anything else.

much appreciation for all advice. got it switched out using extensions.
